Time for a prayer “MOT”?

All of us struggle, at one time or another, to know how to pray, what to pray, and how to get the juices pumping again when things get dry, or we even stop praying completely.

We will explore the brilliant spectrum of prayer in the Anglican tradition and remind ourselves how varied and wonderful our inheritance is. We will explore the balance between the different sorts of prayer that our distinctive Anglican identity has traditionally held as important, poke a little bit at the boundaries between “formal” and “informal” prayer, and share best practice with one another. In a safe and unpressured environment we will do some praying in various modes, and have lots of time to ask all the questions we want to.

There will be input from Tom, moments of liturgical, contemplative and mental prayer, and lots of group discussion.

This is a day for clergy and lay people alike, whether “professional pray-er” or not, and whether your prayer life is absolutely fizzing at the moment, or you are struggling to dredge anything up at all. The focus will definitely be on the realistic, rather than the unattainable!
