Begin in a small parking lot - 10 cars max — off Route 41.
Climb up zigzagging across terrain that ranges from roots to rocks. There are also some flat sections. The trail is narrow and crowded with poison ivy (seasonal).
Note that this trail is heavily forested and you will be bathed in shade until you reach Lions Head, a rocky outcropping that provides impressive, panoramic views of Connecticut and New York.
