WSPD Vigil & Procession of Remembrance
Dear Friends,
As World Suicide Prevention Day approaches, we invite you to join us in a heartfelt evening of reflection, remembrance, and community support.
On Wednesday, 10th September, we will gather together for the Vigil & Procession of Remembrance, beginning at 6:30 PM from M6 5BZ. The procession will make its way solemnly down Broad Street, a shared path of memory and solidarity, towards our destination — the Salford Museum & Art Gallery (M5 4WU) — where the vigil will take place at 7:30 PM.
Along the way, we will carry 177 flags, each symbolising a life tragically lost to suicide in Salford over the past five years. Many of these flags will be held by family and friends, walking in love and remembrance. It is a powerful tribute to those we have lost and a visible reminder of the importance of supporting one another in life.
The evening will conclude in the warmth of the Salford Museum Café, where refreshments will be provided courtesy of Salford City Council and the Greater Manchester NHS Integrated Care Board. This time of gathering allows space for connection, comfort, and community healing.
This event is open to all. Whether you have lost someone to suicide, want to show your support for mental health awareness, or simply wish to walk beside others in compassion — your presence matters.
If you would like to have a loved one’s name included in the Roll of Remembrance, to be read aloud during the vigil, please email:

Together, let us honour the memories of those we've lost and stand in hope for those still struggling.
Warm regards,
Dennis
P.S. Please feel free to share this invitation with anyone who may want to attend. The more hands and hearts we gather, the stronger and more meaningful this evening becomes.
