I hold weekly classes in Qigong and Internal Alchemical training (Neigong) during the colder months at Loddiswell Village Hall.
Outdoor "Forest Qigong" classes are held during the summer months in Deer Wood, South Hams, Devon TQ7 4EE.
MY PAST EXPERIENCES IN QIGONG & ALCHEMY
I begun my journey in internal martial arts in 1985 when i was 17. That was under the tutelage of a Kungfu and Tai Chi teacher- Master Tay a Malaysian Chinese expat who moved to the UK to start up a martial arts school 'Lucky Crane'.
after 3 years I left that school to travel and work in South East Asia. During the next decade I joined several classes where-ever I was based. During this phase I believed it was important to concentrate on daily working with the material that I had already learnt. It was also during this time that I became interested in all things Alchemy- I carried out much research in the alchemical traditions of both the East and West including the more refined and trans-personal, transformational aspects of Egyptian and Arabic Alchemy, at a philosophical level. Also during this time I took up investigating several types of hatha and asana energy yoga practices (Ashtanga, Kriya, Pranayama & Banda). Some limited aspects of the above I continue to integrate to this day but only to supplement and complement body conditioning and stretching aspects of the arts as I now teach them.
WHY I NOW TEACH
Practicing and applying the principals of internal martial arts and other transformative systems for over 4 decades has been a long and fascinating journey of deep inner exploration, some of which has been trial and error, I have learned much from a number of teachers over the years, and also made and learnt from mistakes in my own approach.
For the past 15 years i have placed my focus on more specific practices known as Neigong & Neidan which have strong Daoist influences. I continue my own learning journey with 2 great teachers one for Tai Chi and my main teacher for Daoist internal alchemy work. More recently it became apparent and appropriate that it is now time for me to start passing on to others, some of that which i have learned and have greatly benefited from in my life.
