Join us for a festive, hands-on cookie platter decorating class where we will create an adorable turkey. The perfect centerpiece to your Thanksgiving dessert table or host/hostess… if you are willing to share.
This class will explain the basics of different icing consistencies, demonstrate how to hold/squeeze a piping bag properly, discuss the order of icing applications and teach you how to execute many royal icing techniques. You will be provided with step-by-step instructions to help you learn different techniques from Gabby, the owner/cookie artist at The Cool Cookie Kitchen.
We will also educate you on proper cookie/icing storage so everything stays fresh and what is left over can be reused.
Participants will receive 8 pre-baked sugar cookies that will assemble into an 11 by 11inch turkey, several icing colours in various consistencies, a practice card, an icing recipe card, take home scribe tool, take home bag for extra icing and cookie carry out box. This class also includes the perfectly sized, decorative display box for your turkey. After your cookies are fully dry, layer them in his display box to bring your turkey to life.
Not the artsy type? Cookie decorating classes may seem daunting, but you will be taught everything you need to know. Remember that even if you make a mistake, the results will still be delicious! You can sign up as an individual, with a friend, or with a whole group. The more the merrier! We welcome everyone, regardless of your artistic skills or experience.
