The new St Pete Pier has allowed us to not only be THE only car show to EVER happen on the property, BUT, the St Pete PD is also shutting down Bayshore Dr and parading us in front of THOUSANDS of people that will be in town for Memorial Day Weekend! They will escort all of us onto the property and line us up so that we can have the BADDEST VW event the City of St Pete has EVER SEEN!! We will have all of Spa Beach for ourselves, including the actual beach! Vendors, music, food trucks, games, badass VWs and the best part, people from ALL OVER THE COUNTRY checking out our rides! 2 national magazines have already featured us in their April edition and local media is doing the same thing, so we promise, you do NOT want to miss this!
Now, a couple of things worth mentioning...
Local PD does not want us driving in or out of the property by ourselves, so, the only way in, OR out, is with them escorting us. We start line up at 7am, and the parade starts at 9am sharp. They will escort us off the property and parade us back out at 2:30 pm. If you get there after the parade starts, your car will not be allowed onto the property and you will not be refunded the registration cost.
This is the inaugural Vdubs on the Pier on the brand new pier, and they are testing us to see if we can carry the tradition on to continue it yearly, so it is imperative that we behave and that we show the city what we're all about... good people, good cars, and overall, good vibes!
The registration cost will hopefully go down for future years, but this time we were not able to get major sponsors to cover the high cost of all the expenses the city tagged onto it, so we understand if some opt out if it. It is 100% free to the public, but, the experience? THAT is what we're hoping everyone joins us for! Imagine being paraded in a caravan of over 200 vdubs, by the St Pete PD, in front of thousands of people from all over the country visiting our beautiful city for Memorial Day Weekend, while bringing back local history of a show that carried on for 10 consecutive years on the old pier, and being a part of the inaugural edition on the New Pier show?
