DAY 2
The exhibitions are indoors with great events outside including music, games and entertainment for children and the Island Dog show on the Saturday. It’s the perfect day out for the family, and a safe, welcoming space for all ages and abilities. The Community Centre is fully accessible and ideal for those who prefer a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere, while the field events will interest the whole family.
The exhibits cover:
• Horticulture: Flowers, fruit and veg — with special classes for novice exhibitors
• Floral Art: From buttonholes to banquet-worthy arrangements.
• Culinary Delights: Baking, preserves, homebrewing — and don’t miss the legendary Men Only cookery class or the ever-popular Sloe Gin showdown.
• Children’s Corner: Gardens on a plate, arts, crafts, and baking galore!
• Adult Arts & Crafts: Knitting, crochet, painting, sewing, mixed media, LEGO, and more!
Our cosy tearoom will be serving up homemade cakes and bacon rolls, with bottle and book stalls, fresh produce, and a raffle to keep the fun going.
On the Saturday the family fun and entertainment start in the field from 11am – 4pm Free face painting, Willow craft workshop, Children’s activities hosted by Pollinator Project, free family fun games and ten craft stalls. Sleeping beauty and Rapunzel will be visiting from 12 noon – 2pm and Spider Man from 12.30pm – 1 pm.
At 1.30pm through to 2.00pm the Guernsey Majorettes will be performing with the popular Fun Dog Show at 2:00 PM, hosted by the GSPCA - open to all dogs, regardless of what parish they live in so bring along your furry friends and get a chance to win the Forest Stores Trophy! There are 10 classes plus a Best in Show and all proceeds go straight to the charity.
We are also thrilled to be hosting a live performance by the Guernsey Jazz Orchestra from 12:30–1:30 PM, playing everything from post-war classics to more modern offerings.
Entry to the Show is just £4 for adults and £1 for children, and free to members.
