Ben Hoganson and Tori Ponce featured at the Bistro Showcase

6:30 pm : Tori Ponce is an emerging independent musician from Kansas. Her musical identity leans toward singer-songwriter / acoustic / folk styles with strong emphasis on personal performance. She also engages in cover performances, but maintains original work including her original songs Painting the Wind, and Misconception). Her trajectory from early musical interest (teenage years) is live performance and collaborative releases.


7:15 pm : Ben Hoganson has steadily been writing and recording music that teeters on the margins of

folk and indie rock, but is laced with something a little more.

Lyrics often illuminate personalities of Americana, hopeful and honest people believing that hard work pays off, but also the disillusioned who have been pushed to the ground by the American Dream, clearing the dust from their mouths. His music ranges from gentle folk fingerstyle balladry to distorted electric guitar leads, conveying a sense of desperate failure, and hard-won success.
