A Culinary Uprising: The Story of Bloodroot

The Twin Cities Film Fest is kicking off with our first festival film! Join us for the Minnesota Premiere of A Culinary Uprising: The Story of Bloodroot — a powerful documentary celebrating resilience, activism, and community through food and feminism.

Synopsis
In the 1970s and 1980s, there were more than 230 feminist restaurants, cafés, and coffeehouses throughout the United States and Canada. Bloodroot, located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, is now the oldest and longest-lasting of those spaces, in continuous operation for over 48 years. A Culinary Uprising: The Story of Bloodroot explores this feminist, queer, vegan restaurant and bookstore, illuminating the legacy of its pioneering proprietors, Selma Miriam and Noel Furie.
