Native plants are well adapted to local environmental conditions and offer numerous benefits. They support local wildlife, reduce maintenance, provide erosion control, air quality improvement and improve soil health. Native plants are often drought-tolerant and require less water than non-native species, reducing costs. Native plants support a wider range of species compared to non-native plants, promoting biodiversity and contributing to the overall health of natural communities. Our speaker is a memeber of Nature Coast Native Plant Society and an enthusiastic supporter of using native plants in home landscape.
