About the event

The Langford Lads @ The Box Factory for the Arts in Saint Joseph Michigan
An Irish-influenced trio that performs a variety of Irish, Bluegrass, and American folk styles. Their repertoire is varied, lively, and lyric, instrumental, and vocal--expect an engaging, informal vibe, including banter with the audience and even a sing-along. The Langford Lads are described as “a sonically stunning trio where the intersection of Irish, Bluegrass, and Folk music meets." Think folk revival.

The Dogwood Center for Performing Arts said, “We just had the most incredible band perform tonight. The Langford Lads! The energy, talent, and passion they brought to the stage were unforgettable. Who else loves discovering new music and supporting local artists?”

More about the Musicians
Hailing from Roosevelt Park, Michigan, Larry Halverson started playing the saxophone and moved on to the Irish Tin Whistle and flute after attending a Kennedy’s Kitchen concert. Their performance ignited Larry’s soul to learn Irish whistle techniques while forming his own style. Larry studied with Ireland’s leading performers and instructors.

Tim Staudacher graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy and the University of Michigan School of Music. He taught instrumental music and retired from the Mona Shores Public Schools. He is deeply interested in folk music and plays in groups performing American and Irish music.

A graduate of the University of Michigan School of Music, Bob Phillips taught orchestra in Saline, MI, incorporating fiddling in his teaching. He created the Saline Fiddlers and has been called the “father of fiddling in the schools.” As a music teacher and author/composer, he has received awards for excellence in teaching at the local, state, regional, and national levels. He has over 25 book series and 200 pieces of music published in the educational market.
