Raise a glass to Berrien County’s past with the BCHA in 2025 with our newly expanded “A Drink with History” series. Travel the county with us as we visit wineries, breweries, and distilleries with a host of historical experts to dive deep into specially curated topics. From the women who built and owned successful businesses to the stories of the House of David’s High Island, no matter your interest, there is something for everyone!
Each event starts with a social (half) hour for guests to enjoy heavy appetizers before the presentation begins. Post-lecture, guests can resume the social hour, purchasing items from our pop-up gift shop or additional drinks from our hosts.
We are excited this September to return to where it all began - Lazy Ballerina Winery!
The curiosity surrounding the House of David has kept the commune’s story alive long after its members have passed on. In recent years, new research from the House of David’s archivist, Dr. Brian Carroll, has opened wide stories long hidden or even forgotten. Among these recent illuminations is the commune’s remote camp at High Island. From their relationship with the local indigenous population to the industries that keep members busy, Dr. Carroll will dispel myths and reveal the far-more interesting story of this special place in the House of David’s greater narrative.
General tickets are $40.00 and include drinks, additional appetizers, non-alcoholic options, and a special discount on items in our pop-up gift shop.
Spaces are limited and registration is required. Ticket sales open June 23rd and will run through August 3rd. They can be purchased online or over the phone at 269-471-1202. This event is for adults 21 and over only. 100% of the proceeds from the evening support the BCHA’s continued mission to share the history of Berrien County.
