Haul Away CD launch by Before the Mast

Join Saint John’s sea shanty stalwarts for the release of their third album, Haul Away at the June Fundy Sea Shanty Night. Recorded live off the floor at Saint John’s Grace Presbyterian church, this collection of traditional songs was ten years in the making and includes capstan, long-haul and short-haul shanties, rowing and paddling songs and even a keel boat shanty. In keeping with Before the Mast’s mandate to explore the international world of shanties, two songs are from the French folk tradition.

Come out to hear songs from the new album performed live, sing along, and get your own copy of Haul Away. The album will be available on CD format for $15 (cash or card). For $30, you can purchase, on a unique cork-in-a-bottle USB drive, all three Before the Mast albums: Rolling Down, Hand Over Hand and Haul Away, which also includes bonus features. For each CD or cork drive purchased, $5 will be donated to the Saint John Community Food Basket.
