Join us again for an introduction into Foraging. If you made it to the last class we will be taking another look into the growth of the plants we discovered and diving into new herbs that have sprung with spring! If you are new to foraging, want to learn new spots, or have been waiting to join a class come join us!
Welcome to Eclectic Foraging: a guided foraging class run by Mya, a practicing Eclectic Witch who has been foraging for 15 years!
In this first spring class we will be going on a journey through the woods to discover early spring and winter herbs and other foragables to use in your practice or everyday life!
We will discover the basics of certain plant, mushroom, herb, and tree identification; We will dive into the spiritual meaning behind said plants and fungi; and we will learn how to use them in our practice.
For the kitchen witches, we will learn about edible plants to use in your practice. For the green witches, we will be diving into the look-alike plants and learning how to make tinctures and properly store and dry out herbs. For those that love the zodiac signs and seek to study more about them, we will discover the different herbs associated with the elements and birth months.
For those that simply wish to get out there and add more to their craft, this class is Eclectic for a reason! Join us in learning more about the world we live in, from the smallest plant to the tallest tree!
Please note that this class is only as the weather permits! Please be ready for the elements and be aware that there may be sudden date and/or time changes for the class.
Also note that we will mostly be on dirt and gravel trails with relatively low elevation changes for a few hours. These classes are all about stopping and talking so that we can be a safe and inclusive class for everyone!
Items to be prepared to bring:
- Water (We don't need any emergencies on the trails and you can never have enough!)
- Long pants and a raincoat in case of bugs or sudden weather changes
- Tennis shoes accompanied with some sort of rain boot or water resistant footwear due to spring showers!
- A basket or reusable bag (I will have extra's with as well)
- A pocket knife, multitool or scissors for easy and gentle harvesting
