Bruce Kahler Memorial Picnic
The Old City Oil Drippers will be hosting our Annual Bruce Kahler Memorial Picnic for our late and great friend, Bruce. This will be an informal, laid back gathering for anyone who had the honor of meeting or knowing this great man.
For those who never got the chance, come out and participate in one of Bruce's great pleasures in life: CARS, especially the little German ones.
So pack your picnic basket, load up the kids in your favorite vintage car and come exchange your favorite Bruce memory with friends. Plenty of Shade Trees, Jungle Gyms for the kids, and bathrooms. The picnic falls on the OCOD's monthly gathering on Saturday May 31st 2025.
Bruce and Sue Kahler started the St.Augustine Volkswagen Club 30yrs ago which was later coined The Old City Oil Drippers several years ago by a couple of good looking dudes with lowered vws. Bruce believed in a Friends and Family oriented club that was FREE for all who enjoyed cars and loved to drive them! Bruce started the St.Augustine Turkey Run VW Show some 28yrs ago, again promoting the "3 F's" .... Friends, Family, & Free! His spirit behind the club and show inspired us to extend beyond this quaint little beach town into the greater Jacksonville area all the way up to the greater Philadelphia area (another city that goes by Old City).
Bruce and Sue started a Free Club and a Free Show that's evolved into multiple shows and fundraisers, a sh*t ton of other cool gatherings, events, swap meets, camp-outs, pre and post show parties, and cruises....Not to mention THE COOLEST Tee Shirts & Posters around!!!!

Picnic Details:
OCOD will provide Plates, Utensils, Water, and Condiments, soda, and good conversation!
In years past, we've made this event a Pot Luck, meaning everyone brings their favorite side dish or dessert to share with everyone. We will have a small grill for anyone who wants to bring Hot Dogs or Hamburgers.
Feel free to pack a picnic basket of your own favorites too and Bring a chair to sit on!
Bring a lottery scratch-off to toss into our silent auction basket, benefiting the Port in the Storm Shelter Gala. It’s a small ask for a big cause that would’ve made Bruce proud.
Vintage cars, good food, great people and probably some questionable jokes. See you there.
