April’s global theme is CROSSROADS, and we’re thrilled to welcome award-winning writer and teacher Tyler Gillespie (@tyler_gillespi3) as our featured speaker. In honor of National Poetry Month, Tyler will reflect on how writing has guided him through personal challenges, career shifts, and moments of deep connection — all the crossroads that have shaped his journey.
Tyler is the author of The Thing About Florida: Exploring a Misunderstood State, as well as two standout poetry collections: the nature machine! and Florida Man: Poems, Revisited. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing and a PhD in English, and brings a refreshing, witty, and heartfelt lens to the conversation.
🎷 We’re also welcoming Zeta the Babe for a musical performance — an incredibly talented vocalist and saxophone player based right here in St. Pete.
Doors open at 8:30am, programming starts at 9:00a, speakers on-stage by 9:30. Pre-registration is required (but free!). Lots of parking is available all around the building in paved lots, and parking garages.
☕ Fuel up with sips from our friends at TeBella Tea and Mother Kombucha — we’ve got your morning covered!
🅿️ Plenty of parking at the Vertical Ventures parking lot
🌿 Let’s reduce waste — please BYOM (Bring Your Own Mug!)
✨ Extra love if you bring a friend, too
