Calixto Álvarez: Réquiem Osún

Border CrosSing, one of the Twin Cities' premier professional choral groups, presents the final concert of the 2024-2025 season: the regional premiere of Réquiem Osún, by Cuban composer Calixto Álvarez, in its entirety. This work is a Requiem Mass that brings together the Christian Requiem for the Dead in Latin with prayers to the Orishas in Yoruba and other West African Indigenous languages.


Border CrosSing, uno de los principales grupos corales profesionales de las Ciudades Gemelas, presenta el concierto final de la temporada 2024-2025: el estreno regional del Réquiem Osún, del compositor cubano Calixto Álvarez, en su totalidad. Esta obra es una Misa de Réquiem que combina el Réquiem cristiano por los difuntos en latín con oraciones a los orishas en yoruba y otras lenguas indígenas de África Occidental.
