Hello to our SVBA members,
I hope everyone is well and extracting or done.
One pre-meeting announcement: early registration for the autumn MBA Conference closes August 31st. The Conference will take place on Saturday, October 4th in Ann Arbor: see MBA site for more.
Thanks to Dan Keane, we will have Ann Yaroch, biologist with the Midland County Mosquito Management organization coming to speak to us about ticks. In addition, we have a silent auction, so please bring in bee materials you’re no longer using.
Here is what will transpire during the meeting:
7:00-7:15—our SVBA meeting
7:15-7:45—Ann’s talk about ticks
7:45-8:20—our group discussion of problems/questions we have. Please share yours during this time. Some suggestions I have heard this month are these:
skunks/////supers only ¾ filled/////fall mite care/////pollen-bound/honey-bound frames/////other ideas
Where: The Valley Church hall
When: Tuesday, September 2nd (doors open at 6:30; Randy or Dan will take questions before 7:00)
