A Taste of the Past: Hinxton Watermill & Village Tea
Discover the charm of Hinxton Watermill, a rare 17th-century working watermill nestled beside the River Cam. Join our special Open Day and experience living heritage brought to life by our volunteer guides, who will share the mill’s remarkable history stretching back to the Domesday Book of 1086.
After exploring the mill, take a gentle stroll to Hinxton Village Hall and enjoy a traditional fundraising tea. Homemade cakes and savouries — lovingly baked and served by the Hinxton Village Hall Committee — await you, alongside a friendly raffle to help us raise £20,000 for the continued care of the mill.
Bring the family: children can join the popular ‘Where’s Ratty?’ trail for a prize, and there are picnic spots and riverside walks to enjoy.
All proceeds from the tea will go directly to our Hinxton Watermill Appeal.
