Capital Stage Behind the Scene: What Really Happens Backstage

This FREE program is sponsored by The Renaissance Society of Sac State and is open to the community, but you MUST register to get a free ticket.

Take a Behind-the-Scenes look at Capital Stage, Sacramento's home for cutting-edge professional theatre! Meet Artistic Director Michael Stevenson and his staff for a presentation on how we produce our shows, a Q&A session, a tour of our theatre, plus a sneak peek at rehearsals for our New Play Festival: Playwrights' Revolution!

Parking: Metered parking is available on J Street, Mondays thru Sundays from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Free 2 Hour Parking is available on all numbered streets (22nd, 23rd, etc.), Mondays thru Sundays from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Please note that you will need to move your car once 2 hours have passed since your arrival. There is a public parking lot directly across the street from Capital Stage on J Street. Hourly parking fees vary. It is a modest lot and will fill up quickly, so be sure to arrive early.

The Renaissance Society of Sacramento provides opportunities for participatory lifelong learning and community engagement for older adults. Our learning opportunities include programs on widely varied subjects, from serious to amusing, proposed and presented by our members.

We have a wide variety of programs, five days a week. For the Fall 2025 semester, programs on Zoom will be offered Mondays through Thursdays. Programs will be on the Sac State campus on Fridays; some wll be in-person only, while others will be a combination of in-person and Zoom.
