Blessing of the Animals

What’s a ‘Blessing of the Animals’?
A Blessing of Animals, in many congregations, witnesses to God's and the church's love, care, and concern for creation. As we recognize our mutual interdependence with God's creatures, the church's witness of stewardship of creation is strengthened.

The service itself is short: perhaps under 20 minutes. Please bring your pet(s) on a leash or in their carrier. We'll be meeting at RUMC's Pavilion: a walk across the front Sanctuary lawn and a right. 🐶 🐔

If your furry, feathered, or finned friend is shy of crowds then feel free to bring a picture or your memory. This is a service for the animals as much as for the humans – we want the animals to be safe and comfortable – so please don’t bring your pet if you think they'll be stressed. God’s eye is on the sparrow (Matthew 10:31): He will know the animals we pray for. 🐱 🐰
