Historic Rugby presents the next traveling Bloom Stage show entitled "Savor" to be presented at the Rebecca Johnson Theatre.
In regular collaboration with Poetry in the Boro, this event expands to include Friendly City Books (Columbus, MS), inspired by their anthology from which our show borrows its name: Savor: Poems for the Tongue. Select poets from the anthology will join us to share their work, and Friendly City Books will be on hand with copies available for purchase.
Through poetry, story, music, and performance, Savor will explore the richness of life’s table—where we taste, remember, and gather close. Celebrating food—the flavors, textures, and aromas that stir memory and awaken the senses—but we also invite you to consider all that sustains us: the people, places, and moments we linger over and relish.
Rebecca Johnson Theatre provides an intimate setting for this show, creating a space for connection and community.
Located at 1331 Rugby Parkway Rugby, TN 37733 (just inside the Visitor Centre). Show starts at 7 pm Eastern Time, followed by a reception with libations and light refreshments.
Bloom Stage is a quarterly event that brings a blend of storytelling, poetry, music and art to the Murfreesboro stage at Walnut House. The series is produced by Kara J Kemp with assistance from Kory Wells and Poetry in the Boro and other community arts leaders.
The OPEN MIC segment throughout the show is welcoming submissions. Please email
