Join us for a weekend retreat designed to nurture your creativity, quiet your mind, and reconnect with your inner self. Through a combination of meditation, journaling, life drawing, 3D clay work, and mark making, you’ll experience a holistic journey that integrates mindfulness with artistic expression. Whether you are an experienced artist or a complete beginner, this retreat offers a welcoming space for self-discovery and growth.
Day 1
In the morning we’ll have light refreshments and open with a grounding exercise. We’ll follow this with a guided meditation to center your mind and release tension. After meditation, we will journal on the theme of letting go—reflecting on what we want to release in order to make space for creativity. We will be learning the joy of a sketchbook, and how useful they can be in your creative practice. You will be gifted your very own sketchbook and should the weather allow we’ll try and get out and about!
After a delicious lunch we’ll take part in an experimental session where we explore mark-making techniques using various tools (brushes, sticks, fingers) and materials (inks, charcoal, pastels).
The focus will be on intuitive expression, allowing the marks to emerge from your inner landscape.
Day 2
We’ll gather again the next morning, share what we’ve learnt over some light refreshments and start the day with an introduction to life drawing, focusing on observing the human form with mindfulness and presence.
An experienced model will guide the session, allowing participants to explore different perspectives, angles, and proportions. After lunch we will have a hands-on clay session where participants will explore sculpture techniques, focusing on tactile, intuitive creation rather than perfection. Work with the soft clay, shaping it with your hands, letting your feelings guide the form. we bring together elements from both the mark-making and clay work. Participants will use marks and textures to add detail to their sculptures or integrate their clay work into a larger visual composition.
