Parent Workshop: Emotional regulation & emotion coaching

​Being a parent doesn't come with a manual, and sometimes it can feel overwhelming knowing what the 'right way' to raise children is. There are often new parenting trends to wade through and everyone has an opinion on what is best! Then there is the constant struggle of trying to juggle your own family values and priorities, whilst providing the best possible start for your child.

During the 2024/25 academic year we have been involved in an Emotion Coaching research project. The techniques we have learnt, along with our previous knowledge and experience, can provide you with a greater understanding on how to support children's emotional wellbeing and regulation.

There is a huge amount of focus (rightly so) on the emotional literacy of adults and children a-like, which is perhaps contradictory to how we as children were raised ourselves. This can lead to confusion about how best to tackle the ups and downs that naturally come with developing emotional small people! We will look at the brain development behind big emotions and how to approach parenting in a way that supports healthy emotional intelligence, including strategies you can put in place at home.

This workshop is available to any parents/carers, booking is essential.
