Drive a Diesel Loco and Shunting Demonstrations Day

Our diesel locomotive Ruston will be in action operating wagon shunting demonstrations in the Heritage Centre's railway sidings. There is also the opportunity to enjoy a 15 minute driver experience in the locomotive cab, shunting the wagons from one siding to another. Driver experiences cost £10 per adult aged 16 and over. Up to two children can ride in the cab for FREE when accompaning a driver experience paying adult. Also operating will be the Heritage Centre’s Quarry Bottom Railway, enjoy a 6-7 minute train ride around the Heritage Centre gardens, price £2 adults £1 children, The Garden Railway will also be operating, allowing visitors to drive the little radio control trains, £1.50 for 5 minutes. Our crazy golf course will be open for a fun, but challenging games of golf, price £2.50 per person. In addition to this enjoy the Heritage Centre’s formal gardens, discovery nature trails, den building area, local history and railway museums. Standard Admission prices of £2.50 adult and £1 children apply for this event.
