Join us for our 2nd annual Placer4MentalHealth Wellness Fair! This is a FREE event open to the public with the goal of providing mental health access and linkage opportunities for the community, as well as spreading awareness and education with the aim of reducing stigma. We will have 50+ vendors, wellness workshops, family-friendly activities, entertainment, and more! This event is celebrated by Placer County and our various community partners, all of which helped to create this wonderful event. Info: This is an overview class that will help people understand the mind-body connection and how stress can affect physical and emotional health. We will review how to manage stress, anxiety, and/or depression, including relaxation methods for mind/body health.
Info: Medical science has made amazing discoveries about how emotions, thoughts, and behaviors can impact physical symptoms and affect our health. Understanding this “mind-body connection” can be the first step to managing your daily stress and feeling better mentally and physically. In this series we will practice a form of meditation that focuses your attention on sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgement. Together we will practice breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress.
Info: Learn strategies to boost your well-being and happiness and give you actionable tools to incorporate gratitude into your daily life. While gratitude is widely recognized, the science behind it often remains less explored. This workshop aims to bridge that gap by empowering participants with insights from Psychology and evidence-based practices that enhance gratitude and mental health.
Info: Come relax, tune inward and find your breath in this 30-minute easy-does-it yoga class. We will be flowing slowly through traditional Hatha Yoga postures performed in a sequence, along with some deeper stretches and quiet meditation. Geared towards all levels of Yoga enthusiasts. Info: The workshop will provide knowledge of how cannabis interferes with critical restorative sleep processes and mental health. It will enhance awareness of potential symptoms from transitioning away from cannabis use. Attendees will learn how to develop a plan to effectively cope with challenges and assist with a successful transition, while improving restorative sleep and mental wellness.
Info: This workshop providers strategies and techniques to parents & caregivers caring for loved ones experiencing mental health challenges or diagnosis. Learn about signs and symptoms to get your loves one’s support as well as tips for caring for yourself during crisis or treatment.
Info: This talk will discuss the innovative approach to mental health utilizing rescued horses as part of our Therapy Team. We will explain how sessions work and how client interaction with horses can help individuals toward their treatment goals, whether it be healing from the pain of abuse, a broken marriage, addictions, and more. Come learn the benefits of equestrian therapy and how it could help you navigate PTSD, anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and other struggles. Healing is possible.
