Back to the Altar

SAT May 10 @ 11AM. Cain was the original prodigal son. As we examine Jesus’ parable in Luke 15 of the lost son, we realize God yearned for Cain to return and was ready to celebrate his repentance. However, Cain never came back. He never returned to the altar before God’s presence outside of the Garden of Eden to acknowledge his sin and need of forgiveness. Cain chose not to come back to God even though God was ready to receive him with arms wide open. What a heartbreak for both God and his parents. However, Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son tells us that our story does not have to end like Cain’s. If you have wandered away from God, come home! This is our third presentation in our Retrospect Series.
