Mexico trade veteran Ralph Biedermann will place today’s Mexico commercial environment in an historical context, beginning with the Border Industrialization Program in 1965, and discuss the growth and development of the Maquila Industry. He will discuss Mexico’s role in the North American automotive supply chain, nearshoring and today’s tariff landscape before offering some strategic projections for the USMCA renegotiation discussions in mid-2026.
Dr. Biedermann has over 40 years’ experience in the industrial, consumer, defense and aerospace fields. The MRB Group has worked with U.S. and Canadian companies to develop and implement manufacturing, marketing and distribution strategies for Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean Basin and China. It also has represented various private sector interests from those regions in the U.S. Dr. Biedermann has represented the Mexican States of Tamaulipas and Yucatan in the U.S. and communicates on an on-going basis with major industrial parks, construction companies, contract manufacturers, shelter operators and professional service providers in Mexico.
Before establishing The MRB Group in 1987, Dr. Biedermann was President of Brunswick International, Ltd., and Director of Corporate Relations for the Brunswick Corporation. Prior to that, he worked for Northrop, General Electric and Grumman Aerospace. He has been Executive Director of the U.S. – Mexico Chamber of Commerce Midwest Chapter since 2017.
