FREE TRADE AGREEMENTS FOR THE C-SUITE

The International Trade Association of Great Chicago ( https://itagc.org) is pleased to partner with the U.S. Mexico Chamber of Commerce, Mid-America Chapter, to bring you this special training program.

With the proper understanding and use of free trade agreements, an organization can increase sales, lower landed cost of purchases, and lower the landed cost of its sold goods, all without lowering profit.

This training program will highlight the US-Mexico-Agreement, the most complex of the US’ free trade agreements, with the intention of developing an understanding of free trade agreements in general and how they can be exploited to build business health. International and domestic purchases and sales will be discussed, as well as “origination” versus “country of origin” and how each concept is addressed in free trade agreements. The participants will go through a specific exercise in origination.

Arthur O’Meara, a licensed US customs broker with an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago, is an ICC-Certified Trainer for Incoterms® 2020. He brings with him more than 30 years’ experience in international trade compliance management and training. His consultancy focuses on the development of compliance programs and training tailored for the corporate environment in the areas of free trade agreements, import compliance, and HTS classification. He is well-versed in implementing compliance requirements in the multinational corporate environment.
