An Evening With Author Betty Tamm

Betty Tamm of Oakland will present her book, "Sisters in Siam: Two Sisters Journey Through Life on the Fringe of Famous," a retrospective about her grandmother and great-aunt who started their careers in Siam and knew the King and members of the royal family. Tamm's grandmother Phyllis was a children's book author, and her great-aunt Margaret was an artist and illustrator.

Margaret had a successful career in New York 100 years ago, when it was difficult to be accepted as a professional woman. The University of Oregon Special Collections library archived boxes of Margaret's works and letters.

Tamm will display original works and other mementos and sell and sign copies of her book.
