AIPG Michigan Environmental Risk Management Workshop 2025

Join us for the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) Michigan Section's 2025 Environmental Risk Management Workshop June 10-11, 2025, at the Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center in Roscommon, Michigan.

The Michigan Section is looking forward to hosting this event in person in 2025! We provide high quality technical training that focuses on practical application and case studies for environmental professionals. We bring together a broad base of topic expertise and perspectives from the consulting, regulatory, academic, and industry sectors. This unique workshop forum promotes collaboration and partnership to solve complex environmental problems in a peer-to-peer learning format.

For 2025, we delve into case studies that emphasize remediation techniques, innovative risk management strategies, and pathways to achieve regulatory closure or no further action for contaminated properties. Presentations will explore critical questions such as:

How can we protect public health while revitalizing contaminated properties for productive community use?

What innovative technologies and strategies can be employed to remediate and manage contamination effectively?

How can data-driven approaches lead to more informed, risk-based decisions?

This workshop also highlights the role of technology and cutting-edge methods in putting land back into productive use while managing residual risks effectively and protecting public health.

The public relies on the work we do and the decisions we make every day are critical to their health and safety in the management of risks and prevention of exposure to hazardous substances. This is why this event is important for practitioners in the environmental field.
