The Lone Star quilt is a stunning, classic design—and in this two-part class, you’ll learn how to create a beautiful Lone Star quilt top step by step with confidence.
This class breaks down the process into manageable stages, with time between sessions to complete homework so our in-class time can focus on accuracy, assembly, and troubleshooting.

Part 1 – Foundations & Strip Piecing
Introduction to the Lone Star quilt layout
Understanding color placement and fabric flow
Strip piecing techniques for Lone Star quilts
How to choose your fabric:
Jelly roll or
36 pre-cut 2.5” strips
Homework instructions provided to prepare for Part 2
Part 2 – Assembly & Completion
How to cut your strip sets to create diamond shapes
Assembling the Lone Star center
Sewing diamonds together with precision
Adding background pieces to complete the quilt top
Skill Level
Confident beginner to intermediate
(Students should be comfortable using a rotary cutter and sewing accurate seams.)

Background Fabric: 3 yards

1 jelly roll (2.5" strips)

12 different fabrics - cut 1/3 yard each

Border #2 - 20"

Binding: 3/4 yard
Backing: 4 Yards
