Start Your Engines, Y’all – It’s Time for the Hillbilly Drag Race!

Rev up your riding mowers and unleash your inner speed demon at the Hillbilly Drag Race – one of Route 66 Summerfest’s newest traditions! Taking place June 7, 2025 at 4:30 PM at the Downtown Rolla Bandshell, this isn’t your average lawn mowing session.

Watch as tricked-out turf machines go head-to-head in a 170-ft hand drop sprint, battling for glory, bragging rights, and a cash prize! Whether you’re racing or spectating, you’ll love the blend of horsepower, humor, and hometown fun.

Entry is just $20, and helmets and eye protection are a must (seriously, this isn’t just yard work). Open to racers 12 and up, with all kinds of mowers welcome – from factory-fresh to mildly modified monsters.
