Join us for a 4-part series on learning how to knit! Our first session will be on Saturday, August 16 at 10:00 am. Adults and teens welcome!
In this beginners' session, we will go over the absolute basics of knitting and casting on:
• How to hold the knitting needles and yarn.
• How to start a project: cast on.
• How to cast on using the long-tail cast on method.
At the end of this session, you should be able to cast on to start any project. We will not be starting any further stitches this session.
Yarn, knitting needles, and stitch markers will be available for attendees to use in limited quantities. We highly recommend bringing your own supplies that you are comfortable with, as it will make learning how to knit, and sticking with it, much easier!
In this session, we'll be using:
• Any weight of yarn; size 4 medium weight is suggested.
• Any size of knitting needle; size 8, 10-inch needles are suggested.
Future Sessions:
September 20 - Learn the Two Main Knitting Stitches
