Watershed Science with Marine CSI -Fins and Tails

Join Marine CSI every 3rd Thursday of the month as we dive into the wonders of science! This exciting, hands-on class is perfect for kids in grades K-5, where they’ll explore the fascinating world of fish species, morphology, ecosystems, and conservation.

Finding Nemo taught us that "fish are friends, not food," and there are many fish in the sea, some we can eat and some that might not be good for us. In this activity, young participants will become explorers, looking for the remnants of fish, usually fossil teeth and bones. Older participants will discover why fins are so important to fish and how their bodies are designed for the habitat they live in.

Each session will include a marine themed hands-on activity followed by a short hike around the park to discuss how we are all connected to the watershed.

Sessions are $10 per participant.

Parents/Guardians are not required to stay for the session, however remaining on-site is encouraged.
