Watershed Science with Marine CSI - Clams, Snails, and Oysters

Join Marine CSI every 3rd Thursday of the month as we dive into the wonders of science! This exciting, hands-on class is perfect for kids in grades K-5, where they’ll explore the fascinating world of mollusk species, morphology, barrier beaches, and conservation.

We all love to go to the beach and collect seashells, but at one time, they were the home of some really strange, gooey animals. Scientists sort these animals based on their size, shape, color, and how they move about under the water. Some animals have one shell, while others have two, and in the is activity, participants will learn to identify some common species based on those characteristics.

Each session will include a marine themed hands-on activity followed by a short hike around the park to discuss how we are all connected to the watershed.

Sessions are $10 per participant.

Parents/Guardians are not required to stay for the session, however remaining on-site is encouraged.
