Perseid meteor shower observing at John Clyde Memorial Native Grassland Preserve

SPECIAL "ASTRO-EVENT" NEXT WEEK! Next Tuesday night, the 12th, into the pre-dawn skies of the 13th, the annual Perseid meteor shower will be at its peak. The Franklin Township Astronomy Club has been granted special viewing access this night from approximately 8 pm until 11:30 pm at the John Clyde Preserve on Canal Road in Griggstown. Although a bright waning gibbous moon will be sharing the sky with the Perseids this year, the good news is that we may still see up to 20 bright meteors under clear skies. The best way to find out just how many you can see is to come out to the Preserve, where members of the Club will help guide you in your viewing.
