Whether you are a Red Dust veteran or a first-timer, this is your chance to test yourself on a custom-built 2km+ track winding through open Aussie bushland.
THE CHALLENGE: Modeled on the legendary Red Dust OCR format, we are transforming Dixon Reserve into an adrenaline arena. 🔥 The Obstacles: Tackle Ninja Rigs, Net Climbs, 6ft Walls, and Carries. 🌲 The Course: A 2-3km loop through the bush—expect uneven terrain, sand, and sweat. 🏗️ The Arena: Start and finish at "Container City"—our immersive event village featuring DJ, food trucks, and recovery zones.
WHO IS IT FOR? Everyone from ages 4 to 72.
Families: Run together in the open waves.
Mates: Settle the score on who is the fittest in your group.
Athletes: Test your speed on the "Elite" obstacles.

GENERAL EVENT QUESTIONS
What is Active-X?
Active-X is a free community obstacle course experience where kids and adults can participate together. It features real agility and obstacle challenges, not inflatables or bouncy castles.

Is the event really free?
Yes. Community participation is 100 percent free. The only paid ticket is the Elite wave.
Who is the event for?
Everyone from ages 4 to 72. Families, kids, parents, first-timers, locals and experienced athletes are all welcome.
Is there a kids race?
No. There is no kids-only race. Kids and adults participate together in the community waves.
Can parents and kids do the course together?
Yes. Families are encouraged to complete the course together. Adults may assist kids.
What if I cannot finish an obstacle?
That is completely fine. You can skip any obstacle and go around it. Participation is about having a go, not finishing everything.
Do I need to be fit or trained?
No. You can walk, jog, rest, or skip obstacles. The course is designed for all ability levels. Community Bootcamp weekly bootcamps on Saturdays on the foreshore. communitybootcamp.org
Is this a competition?
Community waves are not competitive. There is a separate Elite wave for competitive athletes.
Who needs to register?
Everyone participating must register, even though the event is free. Numbers are capped for safety.
Is this a bouncy castle or inflatable event?
No. Active-X uses professionally built, real obstacles and agility challenges.

COURSE & PARTICIPATION
How long is the course?
Approximately 1.5 to 2 kilometres through open bushland. Twice for elites.
What type of obstacles are included?
Obstacles may include ninja rigs, net climbs, walls, carries and balance challenges.
Can I walk the course?
Yes. Walking is welcome and encouraged.
Can kids skip obstacles?
Yes. All obstacles have skip options.
Is the course safe?
Yes. The course is professionally built, supervised, and supported by trained staff and first aid.

Is there an Elite race?
Yes. The Elite wave is the only paid category.
How does the Elite course work?
Elite competitors complete two loops of the course.
How does the prize pool work?
The prize pool is shared. There is no winner-takes-all structure.

What is the minimum age?
Children aged 4 and over may participate with adult support.
Is the event wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Accessible parking, toilets, viewing areas and alternative participation routes are available.
Can wheelchair users participate?
Yes. Participants can engage with the event at their own level, with alternative routes and support available.
Are there toilets for kids, adults and people with disabilities?
Yes. Toilets are available for kids and adults, including accessible toilets for people with disabilities.

WHAT TO WEAR & BRING
What should I wear?
Comfortable active clothing, enclosed shoes, hat and sunscreen.
Should I expect mud?
No. This is a clean obstacle course. Expect dirt, sand and natural bush terrain. Maybe some foam?
Should I bring water?
Yes. Bring a water bottle. Water stations are available.

FOOD, DRINK & COMMUNITY
Will there be food and drinks available?
Yes. Food trucks and drink vendors will be on site.
Is there community food available?
Yes. A community sausage sizzle and sandwiches will be available as part of the community effort. Paid and funds going to local small groups and charities. Mainly Maca Ride.
Can we stay and watch after finishing?
Yes. Families are welcome to stay, relax and enjoy the event village.
