🌕✨ Experience the beauty of the autumn full moon at Anderson Japanese Gardens during this special evening of Tsukimi (Moon Viewing). Guests will be guided to the Pavilion for a night of tradition, artistry, and cultural immersion.
Evening Highlights:
-Ikebana Exhibition: The AJG Ikebana group presents an elegant display of arrangements.
-Tatehana Demonstration: Reiko Takahashi, Ikenobo Ikebana instructor, creates a traditional floral offering to the moon.
-Kencha Tea Ceremony: Professor Kimiko Gunji performs a ceremonial offering of tea to the moon, followed by tea and sweets served to all participants.
-Shakuhachi Performance: Enjoy the tranquil sounds of the Japanese bamboo flute by Omar Francis as the moon rises.
This event takes place outdoors. Please dress warmly and comfortably.
About Professor Gunji:
Professor Kimiko Gunji has been a beloved presenter at Anderson Japanese Gardens since 2012. Through her dedication to Japanese arts, aesthetics, and tea spirit, she continues to foster cultural connection and understanding in our community.
