We want to invite our community, far and wide, to walk with us - with love and remembrance for those we have loved and lost, and those who are still with us.
This special event is inspired by Sofia Le Brunn-Healey, a fun, loving and quirky little Halling girl whose kindness and bravery touched everyone she met. Sofia was diagnosed with a brain tumour at five and bravely fought for fifteen months before she sadly passed away in March this year.
We are raising money to build a permanent riverside memorial in Halling in Sofia’s name — Phase 1: a carved throne chair, and Phase 2: the regeneration of the tyre swing area. Every ticket, purchase and donation helps us create a beautiful space the whole community can use.
More importantly than anything, it is an opportunity — the day after what would have been Sofia’s 8th birthday — to walk alongside others who are remembering those they have lost.
Being together in this way brings strength, comfort and connection.

🌌 What to Expect
-Arrive at Halling Community Centre from 5pm.
-Our group walk sets off at 6pm, following a fully marshalled 1.4-mile route with gentle lighting, reflection points and community warmth.
-At 7:15pm, fireworks will be released — made even more meaningful as some of Sofia’s ashes will be carried within them.

🦋 Solar Butterflies
As a really special addition to the event, the riverside will be lined with solar butterflies, each glowing in honour of a loved one. These can be purchased for £8 each prior to the event and will be displayed along Riverside Walk with your loved one’s name attached.
