Audition for That Theatre Company's production of Meteor Show by Steve Martin!
Corky and Norm are excited to host Gerald and Laura and watch a once-in-a-lifetime meteor shower. But it becomes clear that Gerald and Laura might not be all that they appear to be. Over the course of a crazy, starlit dinner party, the wildly unexpected occurs as the couples begin to flirt and insanity literally rains down from the skies. With his trademark absurdist humor, Steve Martin bends the fluid nature of time and reality to create a surprising and unforgettably funny play.
PLEASE NOTE: This play is rated R: Adult Language, Suggestive Content, Drug & Alcohol Use.
Roles to be cast:
Laura: Gerald's wife. The "attractive" one, may or may not have been an editor at Vogue.
Gerald: Laura's husband. Very mysterious, a little pompous and bombastic.
The audition will consist of reading scenes from the show (which will be provided at auditions).
The roles of Corky and Norm have been cast.
Rehearsal Schedule:
Read Through: Sunday Aug 3rd @1pm.
Rehearsals: August 10th-Sept 5th. Sundays 1-3:30pm. M-Th 7-9:15pm
Tech: Sunday Aug 30th 5-9pm.
Performances Sept 5-7, 12-13, 18-20 @7:30pm & Sept 14 @2pm.
All rehearsals and performances are in the Black Box Theatre at the Rochester Civic Theatre.
Actors are paid a stipend.
Auditions start promptly at 7pm.
