Take a moment to slow down and prioritise your wellbeing at our Clay & Friends sensory studio — a calm, creative workshop for adults (16+) living with disability.

This free community event offers a welcoming space to explore hands-on self-care tools through two therapeutic activities:

Learn how to create a calming, personalised sensory buddy using soft socks, rice filling, and decorative features. These weighted companions can provide gentle pressure and comfort for emotional regulation, stress relief, or anxiety support.

You'll be guided through:

• Filling and shaping your sock buddy to your preferred weight
• Securing and tying it into a soothing form
• Decorating your buddy to reflect your personality and needs

Enjoy the soothing experience of working with air-dry clay, allowing you to create a small object, tactile design, or expressive sculpture. Clay is a wonderful sensory medium that supports mindfulness, relaxation, and focus.

• Learn simple, sensory-friendly self-care strategies
• Create calming tools to support emotional wellbeing
• Connect with others in a safe, inclusive space
• Take home your creations and a sense of accomplishment

No artistic experience is required — this is a safe, supported space to try something new.
