Strength training is incredibly important for health, injury prevention and running performance. Despite the clear benefits, many runners avoid strength training, don't enjoy it, aren't sure exactly what to do, or are worried about getting too heavy and bulky. We aim to get you to embrace strength training in your life!
Our friendly group workshop will show you the incredible benefits of strength training and how it can super-charge your training. Spaces are strictly limited so please book early.

No prior experience necessary!
Join hosts Dave Coombs (Physiotherapist, Running Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach), and Amanda Coombs (Personal Trainer) for a friendly small group workshop either on your own or with a friend - all are welcome**
You will learn:
- Mobility drills to improve your flexibility
- Warm up and cool down exercises
- INJURY PREVENTION: strength exercises aimed at minimising your risk of injury.
- HEALTH: strength training for health, to maintain and gain muscle mass and bone density.
- PERFORMANCE: strength exercises that can improve your running economy and make you a quicker runner.
- How to fit your strength training in around your running session.
Saturday 3rd May 2025
- Duration: 3pm-5pm (2 hours)
- Cost: $50 per person - pay on the day.
- Location: Physiologic, 334 Scottsdale Drive, Robina
- What to bring: Running shoes and gym/running clothes. Water bottle.
- How fit do I need to be? The workshop will be aimed at all ability levels with exercises modified as needed. With that said, you should be fit enough to complete a number of strength and running-based exercise over a 2 hour workshop.
