OSW Neighborhood Appreciation Party

In recognition of homeowners, renters, and business owners in Old Southwest, we wrap up May as Neighborhood Month with a FREE Neighborhood Appreciation & Recognition Party on Sunday, June 1 to nurture and applaud the true community spirit that exists in OSW. Old Southwest neighbors, their families, friends, and local businesses are invited to socialize and celebrate together.

Live music by the very entertaining duo Leggz will get you singing, dancing, or just toe-tapping, if that's your style. A variety of grilled food will be provided, including Sunnyside Market hotdogs and chili, plus hamburgers, chicken, and veggie burgers. Attendees are asked to bring a potluck side dish, dessert, or appetizer to share. BYOB--bring along a cooler with beverages of your choice and a chair. We'll have several corn hole sets out, if you'd like to get a tournament going. Please bring other yard games, if you have them.

This annual social gathering is a proud collaboration between OSW Inc. and local businesses. On the Edge Salon, is leading the effort and brings together Birrieria la Vaca (a new restaurant on 5th St. SW), Sunnyside Market, Albemarle Bakery & Coffee House, SECOND Cafe, and Virginia Building Services (VBS) of Roanoke, Inc., as contributing hosts.

We are excited about this event and hope you will come out to meet new friends, catch-up with old friends, find out what's happening in the OSW neighborhood thanks to volunteer efforts, and just plain enjoy yourself. Bring a friend!
