At 8:00 PM EST, we welcome back Wes Collins! Wes comes to us with a long resume of playing topnotch venues. He’s played shows from coast to coast including: The BlueBird Cafe in Nashville, TN; The Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, TX; the Cary Theater in Cary, NC (opening for Dave Olney); and many more. He is a winner of the prestigious Grassy Hills New Folk Competition and a North Carolina Arts Council Songwriting Fellowship, and has been featured as a finalist in The Telluride Troubadour Contest in Telluride, CO; The Songwriter's Serenade Competition in Moravia, TX; and The Wildflower Performing Songwriter Contest in Dallas, TX. Some of our favorite people from Ordinary Elephant to Mary Guthier and Jonathan Byrd have said great things about Wes! We expect this to be a super show, so come early and bring a friend! At 7:30 PM EST, we welcome Rob Fraim. Rob’s musical path began with classical piano recitals, detoured through blues and rock bands, and paused for decades of family life. Now, later in life, he has returned to the stage with an acoustic guitar, a storyteller’s voice, and a lifetime of music behind him. Based in Roanoke, VA, he performs in intimate venues and concert stages, weaving together his original songs and handpicked indie-folk and alt-country covers. “Honest acoustic music is about embracing the rough edges - so if the voice cracks or these old fingers miss a string, well, we’ll call that art … almost with a straight face.” Check him out at facebook.com/RobFraimMusic.
