Walk & Roll to School Day!

Morningside is joining schools around the world to celebrate the benefits of walking and biking with our first Walk and Roll to School Day! We invite you to meet us in the morning to hop on the “Walking Bus” as we make our way to school as a group. Families can walk or ride a bike as PedalSafe Roanoke is providing us with bike racks for the day!

- Where are we meeting? The parking lot of 9th Street Church of the Brethen
- What time are we meeting? 7:30am - This will give us plenty of time to make our way to school before the tardy bell rings!
- Will there be supervision? A small number of staff will be walking with students, and we will have support from local law enforcement; however, adults should stay with their child(ren) during the walk to ensure their safety!
- Why walk? We walk to promote physical activity, teach safe pedestrian skills to students, raise awareness of how walkable/bikeable our community is, reduce traffic congestion, pollution, and speed in school zones, and share time with our community of leaders, parents, and children!
