Free weekly open studio sessions to create art, meet neighbors, and join or start a Daisy Art Parade krewe. All ages welcome!
Every Monday, Jan 12 – May 4 • FREE • All Ages & Skill Levels Welcome
Join your neighbors to create community art together and help build magic for the Daisy Art Parade! These free weekly open studio sessions are part of the “It’s Here, Roanoke” arts activation — a city-wide effort to connect people through creativity and celebrate art as a community-building force.
What’s Happening?
Every Monday starting January 12 through May 4, come hang out at our open studio space to:
Make art with others — no experience needed
- Learn artistic techniques from community artists and volunteers
- Develop or join a krewe — arts-making groups that will march together in the Daisy Art Parade
- Collaborate on giant puppets, costumes, banners, and more in preparation for the parade on Saturday, May 9!
A krewe is simply a group of friends, neighbors, colleagues, or fellow art lovers who want to make something joyful together and share it with the community. It’s all about connection, creativity, and fun!
Who Should Come?
Everyone! Whether you:
Want to join a krewe
Want help starting your own krewe
Love making art
Want to meet new people
Have never tried collaborative art before — you’re welcome here
Why It Matters
The Daisy Art Parade is an intentional celebration of community creativity — a chance for Roanokers to come together, make big bold art, and parade it down the street in a spirit of joy and neighborly pride. Your participation builds connection, brings stories to life, and reflects the heart of our city.
This series also supports It’s Here, Roanoke, an initiative to strengthen the city’s arts ecosystem and connect residents, artists, and organizations through collaborative cultural experiences.
