Body Improvisation Workshop: Make Collective Spontaneous Music with Your Body!
One of the most healing and connecting things we can do as humans is to make sounds together with our voices and bodies. We learn to listen to each other, become something greater than ourselves, and the satisfaction of creating spontaneous art together!
Joy will teach you foundational skills for creating music in the moment with your voice, hands, feet, and body collectively in a small group. In this playful workshop, she will teach you basic concepts for creating improvised body music and guide you through games that allow you to explore these concepts in an open and supportive atmosphere.
Have you done circlesinging before and would like to dive deeper and experience creating your own music in combination with others? Do you hear music within yourself that is yearning to come out through your voice and body, and you just need a little encouragement and guidance? Then this workshop is also for you!
Saturday, June 28, 1 - 4pm
Suggested love offering: $15 but no one will be turned away
Registration is recommended to keep this a small group setting:

Joy Tru is a song leader, performer, singer/songwriter, and voice teacher. She leads a form of community singing called circlesinging, where she leads groups of people in song, rhythm, play, movement, and body percussion games that allow people to connect with each other, their body, their spirit, and the earth. She uses techniques that she has learned from Bobby McFerrin, Rhiannon, and Música do Circulo, a Brazilian form of community singing.
