Join the Roanoke Valley Violence Prevention Council for the 18th Annual A Walk in Their Shoes Domestic Violence Awareness Event.
Together, we walk in solidarity with survivors, advocates, and families of victims.
This year’s event will feature a powerful testimonial from a domestic violence survivor and an honor and remembrance ceremony led by the Salvation Army’s Turning Point. During the ceremony, the names of women, men, and children from the Roanoke Valley and beyond who lost their lives to violence will be read aloud. Following a moment of silence, participants are invited to walk as a symbol of our collective commitment to break the silence and stand against violence in our community.
A community resource fair will also be available, offering information about local services and support.
📌 Free and open to the public. Everyone is encouraged to wear purple in solidarity.
