As Autumn starts to slowly creep in, this is a friendly reminder that the work of the wild ones still continues. In the tall grass and fading blooms, life hums quietly, bees nourishing themselves on the last nectar, butterflies lingering on sunlit stems, and seeds preparing their patient journey into next year.
Here’s butterfly expert Mike O’Brien, wandering the meadow in search of these tiny miracles. Without untamed, textured, and other habitats full of seed heads and shelter, pollinators lose the places they need to nest, forage, and carry life forward.
So, we leave the dead plants standing. We leave the seeds. We leave the shelter. Because the wild knows what to do, if we give it the chance.
If you would like to learn more about butterfly pollinators in particular, direct message us to join our rescheduled Butterfly Walk with Mike O’Brien happening on September 9th from 10 AM-12 PM EST.
